So Much to Look Forward to in 2012!

Weekenders! - To Do: Tahoe, Napa, and Yosemite
Another year older! - 24 is going to be a good year, I can feel it
New classes! - Nerdy, yes. Am I embarrassed to admit it? Nope!
Looking forward looking forward! Reflection to come later.
Wild Ones - Flo Rida ft. Sia
Hey I heard you were a wild one If I took you home It’d be a home run Show me how you’ll do I want to shut down the club With you Hey I heard you like the wild ones
Seriously obsessed with this song!
New Year's Resolutions
Answer work email more promptly.
Wake up earlier in the morning. One of my friends/colleagues generally wakes up 2 hours before any given morning commitment, so I think I will adopt that same strategy.
Eat less fried food. French fries don’t always have to be the comfort food!
Keep in stronger contact with family and friends from college.
Save more money. Long term planning, what up.

Tunes
Dangerous - Robin Thicke is really the jam right now.
Potential Future Research
I’ve recently been brewing over this…
How social media affects/interacts with identity development. Specifically, how blogging relates to the identity development of young adults.
It’s definitely the Student Development Theory speaking, but it is interesting to think about the intersection between self-perception and desired perception.
Piscean Traits
“One quality of Pisceans that is very annoying is that they hate to answer questions in a simple ‘Yes’ or ‘No’. Mostly, the answer will be a ‘Maybe’.”
Hahaha, that is so true about me.

Midnight in Paris: In Love All Over Again
I swear Midnight in Paris never fails to awaken the true romantic in me. Paris 1920s, yes please! Passion and life and literature, oh my!

Hemmingway: Have you ever made love to a truly great woman?
Pender: Actually my fiance is pretty sexy…
Hemmingway: And when you make love to her you feel true and beautiful passion and you for at least that moment lose your fear of death?

We're Being Totally Pejorative, But It Still Makes...
ELuke: Yes Seattle. Coffee culture.
Me: Oh man I’m gonna pass out at the amount of cool, coffee-drinking, “I’m the lead bassist of my mind,” “I support local art” type people
ELuke: The ‘my beanie matches my wool socks’ ‘my other car runs on olive oil’ ‘we will hitchhike and scalp concert tix’ crew…LOVE it.
Me: Gotta...
The little things
Getting woken up to a [super sweet, super thoughtful] surprise Christmas present and a trip to Starbucks

For Eric B. Luke!
I haven’t had a good heart-to-heart in awhile. I get so caught up in the task-completion that it’s hard to carve out time to find complacency in pure existence. To ponder and dream instead of plan and execute. Now that classes are done for the year I have some time to reflect and merely exist. I want to take the time to truly celebrate how far I have come in the matter of 5 short...
Self-Motivation
Alright, Angela, let’s do this. Stop and think about why you’re doing this, why you’re writing this paper. You’re writing about biracial student development because it’s important. You’re writing it for the students that got to college and wondered what cultural organization they could join because they couldn’t find one exactly for them. You’re...
Feelings/Memories/Reflections
Feelings are a funny thing. I have always wondered what are the deciding factors in silencing feelings. Rather, what silences the communication of feelings? I have saved text messages, kept letters, and documented nights of verbal expression to later reflect on the things that are said to me. Keepsakes of genuine, unfiltered emotion. Some themes of these sometimes include, “I’ve always...
Collection of Advice from UC Berkeley and Stanford...
Members of our Student Affairs program had the opportunity to visit UC Berkeley and Stanford yesterday for our “Institutional Fit Field Trip.” We met with a few Student Affairs professionals at both the mid-level and senior level positions at each institution. I wanted to document some standout points and poignant pieces of advice. I would give credit where credit is due, but I...
